Recommended Resources

There are so many wonderful resources available online that can help connect kids and their parents with great books. Here are a few of my favorites.

Read-Aloud Revival – Sarah Mackenzie and her crew provide inspiration and tools to help build a reading culture in your home, focusing on the family-bonding activity of reading aloud together. Also of interest, the Read-Aloud Revival podcast, in which Mackenzie interviews authors and educators.

A Mighty Girl – A fantastic site, you’ll find book recommendations for all ages that will help empower the girls in your life.

KidLit Rally 4 Black Lives – The Brown Bookshelf hosted a wonderful two-hour rally featuring many of today’s most beloved authors and illustrators. The first hour is geared towards kids; the second hour is more for parents and educators. The Brown Bookshelf also posted anti-racist resources on this page.
